November 10./11., 2019 - Promotionsworkshop, Beilngries

As in the last two years, the annual "PhD Workshop" of our chair took place in the ABG conference centre in Beilngries. For two days, the colleagues presented their current research results and planned approaches. The focus was on professional exchange in order to be able to work on future projects together. This year, our new internal employee Fabian Stieler and our new external doctoral candidate Sven Beckmann also took part and presented their current research areas to us.

Philipp Lohmüller presented at the "Business Modeling and Software Design" (BMSD) conference our paper, which is entitled as "Failure and Change Impact Analysis for Safety-Critical Systems - Applied on a Medical Use Case". The paper deals with identifying and analyzing failures. Subsequently, change impacts will be calculated therefrom.

01.05.2019 – Start of EXIST Transfer of Research Project

In the course of the "EXIST Transfer of Research" funding program of the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Technology (BMWi), four of our employees successfully applied for their start-up project "mocaan".

In the now beginning two-year funding period, the team will focus on making complex IT landscapes controllable with a single click – i.e. capturing, analyzing and visualizing information with respect to meeting specific demands.

Further information can be found on the project page.

March 28./29. 2019 - Strategy Workshop

As in previous years, our chair retreated for two days to Kloster Irsee, in order to discuss and plan the strategic direction for the upcoming year.
The successful completion of multiple PhD studies from our colleagues, as well as the approved funding by the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy of the EXIST project, will lead to a significant change in staff.
These two productive days served as opportunity to plan this transition phase, as well as to discuss the self-concept and goals of the chair.
The developed vision and mission statement will ease the onboarding of new colleagues as well as guide future research projects.
