Research focuses on Reinforcement Learning in the context of human-computer- and human-robot-interaction. Main issue is the adaptation of computers/robots to human users based on social signals. Humanoid robots are the method of choice to explore this research area.

"VirtualReeti" is a virtual, browser-based version of the Reeti robot. Based on HTML5, it allows to design and test interactions and applications without hardware. In combination with a Java-based REST interface, it allows to control both real and virtual Reeti via the same API. More information in the following slideshow.

The lecture "Reinforcement Learning" covers foundations, algorithms and techniques of Reinforcement Learning, which are applied, practiced and implemented in the tutorial. Courses are held in German and take place every winter term.

The practical course "Reinforcement Learning" covers selected contents of the lecture and focuses on implementing a working prototype in the context of HCI und HRI. Topics are assigned anew each term. Courses are held in German and take place every summer term.
