Chair of EIHW begins key role in sustAGE


EIHW researchers were in Heraklion, Greece 16-17th January to participate in the launch of sustAGE, a €4 million EU Horizon 2020 project coordinated by the Foundation for Research and Technology-Hellas (FORTH). The collaboration will develop a state-of-the-art assistive system to improve the productivity and quality of life of ageing adult workers.

Kun Qian defends PhD


Congratulations to our former guest researcher Kun Qian (third from left) on the successful defence of his PhD, ‘Automatic General Audio Signal Classification’ at TUM on the 28th November! The examiners were Professor Gerhard Rigoll and Professor Werner Hemmert. Professor Björn Schuller was also present as Kun’s supervisor.

EIHW researcher wins IEEE best student paper prize


Congratulations to our PhD researcher, Gil Keren. Gil won the best student paper at the 2018 IEEE International Conference on Data Mining (ICDM), the leading research meeting in the field, presenting his work in Singapore on the 18thNovember.
