Music informatics is a multidisciplinary field of research in which knowledge from the musicology and computer science domain converges. This course will introduce basic knowledge in musical language, as well as its relationship with informatics. Up-to-date research topics in the realm of computational musicology and music information retrieval, as e.g. symbolic music representation or machine learning for music analysis, will be treated.
