The ability to explicitly model and enact Cross-Enterprise Business Processes (CBPs) is a key prerequisite for successfully setting up and managing virtual organizations, e.g. supply chains. In this paper, we present a novel approach for modelling these CBP based on the service-oriented architecture paradigm. By embedding our approach into a model-driven development perspective, we show how improved enterprise business operability can be achieved from business-level modelling down to platform-dependent executable models of cross-enterprise business processes.
