Abstract

Integration on model level, or virtual integration, tries to shift the moment of component integration to earlier phases of a development process, i.e. before implementation. Within the scope of model driven software development models should be used on different detailed abstraction levels to check later integratability of components and (sub-) systems in order to detect and to eliminate possible inconsistencies early in the development process. Developed integration mechanisms are thereby evaluated in the context of AUTOSAR which represents an automotive modeling standard.
