Object Oriented Database Systems
To pave the way for object oriented databases as platform for nonstandard applications (e.g. CAD), the system performance has to fulfill industrial requirements. Therefore, a set of realistic benchmarks is developed to compare and measure OODs. By the way, open problems like modelling of taxonomic knowledge, "is-a" inheritance, and software reusability are adressed.
